FAQs for custom laser engraving
- Dark vector images engrave very well
- Chrome or glossy images are not good candidates for engraving
- Remember that pistol grips only have a relatively small area that can be engraved
- Highly complex images will lose detail when scaled to smaller sizes
- Remember that less is often more for a good design
- Very small items are more difficult or impossible to engrave
- JPG, TIFF, PNG and SVG are supported file formats
- 300 - 1200 dpi are the file resolutions that are preferred and engrave the best
- Anything lower than 300 dpi will almost always engrave poorly compared to the higher resolutions
- While I can provide basic photoshop cleanup and modification, I cannot spend hours on a project unless I am paid accordingly. Please do not expect miracles for the base custom price.
- If it is too complex a job I will turn down the work. I want you to be happy with the end result. Complex jobs usually only end in frustration and failure for everyone involved.
